This post is more about the color page than what actually happened in Chapter 411 of Naruto. Still, there be spoilers probably. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED.


LOL. Anyone who's seen the recent chapter has got to know what I mean. And I know this isn't the first time someone's thought this. NaruSasu has an insanely large fanbase, but I've never been actively part of it, so I'm sure I've missed little moments here or there that Kishimoto may have put in that sent fangirls over the moon (though I do remember the Sasuke reunion in Shippuden - holy crap!).

But the opening page this week made me laugh so hard. And if I were a NaruSasu shipper, I'd be happy even though Naruto is nowhere to be seen for the rest of the chapter. What's the big deal, you ask? Well, the color page is basically split in half with one side Sasuke and the other Naruto. The drawings start at their noses before cutting off at their chests. Naruto has his signature grin while Sasuke has his 'not quite a frown, but not a smile' either thing going on. I've always loved parallel drawings like this. But that's not the best part. They're each wearing a necklace.

With a picture of (their lover boyfriend brother friend) each other on them.

That's right. Sasuke is wearing a necklace with Naruto on it, and vice versa.

This isn't really a big deal, not like that beautiful shot of Sasuke having his arm around Naruto (regarding the aforementioned reunion scene), but still. I was tickled pink. LOL.

It sort of reminds me of those 'best friends' necklaces I remember from my elementary school days, which I'm sure are still around. You know, where you have a necklace with 'best' and your friend has a necklace with 'friends'. Or even one when there are two necklaces with 'fri' and the other 'ends'. Hehehe...

But wearing a necklace with a person's picture on it? Always seemed more of a 'lovers'-type thing to me. But that's just me. I suppose because it reminds me of heart-shaped lockets with pictures of loved ones inside...

Is this Kishimoto's way of saying 'yes, they do love each other'? (If Naruto's insane drive to bring Sasuke back didn't say that clearly already...) Maybe it confirms that Sasuke hasn't forgotten about Naruto either? Lol. If you can't tell, I'm joking.

P.S. On another random note b/c I don't recall doing it already: I remember someone posting on the FRoP tagboard a long time ago, saying 'Oh, you like Naruto? Well, he dies, y'know.' The person was referring to the Naruto Movie 4 or Naruto Movie 1 for Shippuden. First of all, that was a stupid spoiler if I hadn't already known about it. And even if I hadn't, I still would've thought that person was perhaps the stupidest person on the planet. I can't believe some people actually thought Naruto would die and that was it. Maybe it's because I was seeing it from a story POV (and breaking it down like an author)? It still kinda baffles me how some people take trailers at face value (*reminded painfully of the Avatar fandom*).

Yeah... I wanted to post about that just now for some weird reason.
